Bio

No Compromise, more commonly known as NoCo, is an alternative rock trio from Silver Spring, Maryland. The band's sound often draws comparisons to Foo Fighters, Weezer, and Green Day, as well as edgier grunge and metal acts. NoCo fuses driving rhythms and distinctive guitar lines with pop-oriented vocals to set their sound apart from other alternative rock imitators. The band displays a diverse sonic palate with songs catchy enough to appeal to fans of lighter genres, yet other tracks that reveal the group's metal and hardcore influences.

The current lineup came together in 2006 and consists of Justin Fry on bass and lead vocals, Jack Kwait-Blank on guitar and vocals, and William Bowen on drums and vocals.

In spring 2008 NoCo released a seven song EP, This Could Be You, representing the first full songwriting collaboration between the current members of the lineup. The album instantly drew praise from fans and critics alike for its tight sound and broad appeal.

"Their overall sound is pleasing. Think of a downtuned, grungier Jimmy Eat World without Auto-Tune, circa 2000. Altogether radio-friendly, the band takes another step forward, production-wise." — Matt Brundage.

Craig "Bam-Bam" Stegall of Away Team concurred, writing "Stylistically, it’s great. Writing, both musically and lyrically, is impeccable."

Although the band has proved they can produce solid tracks in the studio, NoCo prides itself on its energetic live performances. "We don't go out there every night to just 'put on another show.' We want everyone in the audience to feel something because that's what music is supposed to be about," lead singer and bassist Justin Fry explains. NoCo feels very strongly about fan involvement and believes that ultimately a loyal fan base will be the key to their continued success.
